Friends of NCSL honoured
Two members of NCSL’s governing council and an NCSL consultant have been awarded honours for services to education.
- Pam Jervis, Headteacher of Brookfield High Sports College in Knowsley, and a member of NCSL’s governing council, was awarded an MBE for services to sports education in the 2008 Queen’s Birthday Honours List.
- Judy Moorhouse, Chair of the General Teaching Council for England (GTCE) , and an ex-officio appointment to NCSL’s governing council, was awarded an OBE for services to education.
- Derek Wise, Headteacher of Cramlington Community High School in Northumberland, was awarded a CBE for services to local and national education. Derek, whose school helped the College develop some of its programmes, picked up a 21st Century Learning Alliance Award for Leading Innovation at NCSL’s annual conference.
The Honours List recognises extraordinary people from many walks of life for their achievement or service to the community – people who have really changed things for the good of others.
Earlier in the year Geoff Southworth, Deputy Chief Executive of NCSL, was awarded an OBE for services to education in the New Year’s Honours List.
