NCSL’s Building Schools for the Future Leadership Programme supports school leaders and local authority teams to maximise the potential of the Building Schools for the Future (BSF) Capital Investment Programme to transform learning.
NCSL has drawn on the best knowledge and experience of a range of professionals, including national agencies and industry, who have all been extensively involved in the BSF Capital Investment Programme, new builds or major change programmes. This leadership programme aims to provide timely advice so that school leaders can plan their input to the BSF process at appropriate points to achieve maximum impact.
The programme recognises the importance of a partnership between local authorities and school leaders in creating and achieving a shared vision. The Building Schools for the Future Leadership Programme is available to:
For Phase one and Phase two of the programme there are up to 33 places allocated for school leaders, and three places allocated for local authority representatives.
Distributed leadership is recognised as a powerful means of driving forward change and capitalising on others’ strengths and ideas. Many activities involve working on your individual institution’s vision and planning for change. Therefore, a minimum of two school leaders from each school must be present on all phases of the programme.
The registration of interest for the October 2008 intake of the programme is now closed. Selected local authorities involved in the BSF Capital Investment Programme will be invited to apply for the BSF Leadership Programme starting in 2009.
If you have any further questions on the BSF Leadership Programme, please contact [email protected] or alternatively telephone 0845 609 0009.
NCSL’s Building Schools for the Future Leadership Programme provides school leaders across local authorities with the opportunity to begin to articulate the requirements and construct the knowledge needed to build a vision for learning.
