Online facilitation and tutoring course

The online facilitation and tutoring (OFAT) course is designed as an introduction to the skills required to promote learning in an online community, to the learning philosophies underpinning learning in an online community, and to how learning is manifested online. Key to this learning is the actual experience of participating in the online facilitation course.

Six-week course

The course consists of four units and should take approximately four to five hours per week, over a six-week period. It takes place within NCSL‘s Learning Gateway.

The next course starts on 4 May 2009.

The units include:

Intensive course

We also offer an intensive one-week course, with an expected commitment of three to five hours per day. Course content, acceptance criteria and completion criteria are the same as for the six-week course. A course will be available on 13 April 2009.

OFAT2

The next step from OFAT is OFAT2, which provides an opportunity to extend your skills in promoting learning in an online environment.

The Online Facilitation and Tutoring 2 course builds on the experience of the OFAT course and presents participants with the opportunity to explore a range of models, techniques and applications in order to develop effective blended learning along with effective knowledge management.

The next course starts 9 February 2009.
