The free online mentor course is offered once a year to train and accredit new Learning Gateway mentors who help and support new users.
You can also sign up for free to be a ‘mentee’ on the online mentor course. You will be contacted by phone and given one-to-one help and support with using talk2learn by a mentor who is participating in the course.

I have found my mentor really helpful and supportive. Without her I would not have managed to do very much at all. Her advice was vital and her approach was friendly and patient. I was given very clear and successful instructions which helped me to complete tasks I would not have managed (or even attempted) alone.

Have to say I do get a positive ‘buzz’ out of helping someone else enjoy the talk2learn community. I wish I had signed up for a mentee myself last year when I started, as another point of reference who is not involved with your actual course content, adds a different perspective to the learning curve.
