14-19 Leadership and Management Development Programme

Leaders and managers of 14-19 consortia everywhere are facing the challenges of working together in new ways to implement Diplomas collaboratively. The Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS) and NCSL can support you in this by providing a far-reaching and flexible programme of support. This new programme has evolved from our offer of support to Gateway 1 consortia and is being developed in line with feedback from Gateway 2.

Support for leaders – from gateway to delivery and beyond

Our new approach builds on programme features that you are telling us you value most.

We hope that by now all of you in Gateway 2 will have met and worked with your own Consortium Leadership Consultant (CLC). The role of the CLC is to get to know you and your consortium’s needs, to co-design a leadership and development professional development plan and package of support with you, and to help you access a range of services.

Most of you will have participated in a first Consortium Support Conversation (CSC).The second round of Consortium Support Conversations (CSC2) begins in late February 2009. CSC2 will differ substantially from the initial CSC. LSIS/NCSL, along with DCSF, have listened to consortia feedback from the first round and are adapting the approach to be more flexible. Each CSC2 will be conducted around an agenda agreed in advance between the consortium leader and CLC, focusing on the specific requirements of the consortium.

For those of you implementing Diplomas in 2010 and beyond, we offer the same range of services as that offered to those delivering Diplomas in 2009, although the coaching and consultancy offer is only available for groups and not individuals.
For those of you who started to deliver Diplomas in September 2008, you can continue to access support throughout the coming year.
