Partnership events and initiatives

Message from your regional leaders

"We have been connecting with school leaders and local authorities in the region. Here is a sample of the types of activities we have been involved with.

If any of these activities are of interest to you, please contact your regional leader to find out more.

Large venue sought

Are you a large primary or secondary school in the South region with facilities to hold a regional event in the autumn term 2009? We are looking for possible venues with capacity of between 60 to 100 to hold a cross-regional event. We are able to offer payment to the host venue. Why not take the opportunity to coincide this with an INSET day when much of your school will be unoccupied? Another option would be that we could work with you and other local schools to develop a bespoke event around a leadership theme relevant to your needs.

Please contact Rhonda Moore or Sue Thackeray if you would like further information or if you can help.

School business manager (SBM) advocates

NCSL has appointed SBM advocates to operate within the nine government regions. The remit of the SBM advocate is to raise awareness of the SBM profession, promote avenues for career progression and demonstrate how the role improves school effectiveness. If you are an SBM and would like to link with other SBMs in your region, please contact:

Steering groups

We are currently developing three steering/stewardship groups – one of which is a stewardship group for London – which will represent as many London local authorities as possible. If you’d like to be involved or find out more, please contact [email protected].
